Guys appear to have plenty of reasons to get away with the rest of their friends. There’s always a golfing vacation coming up or a weekend away for a football game. You don’t need to fly or drive far and traveling miles away might not be in your budget, so why not consider what is in your city that you might not usually go to. Is there a hotel in the next city that would provide a getaway from it all experience for you and your friends?
Becoming a tourist in your own town can be great fun. There will be plenty to explore and find out what is hidden because you usually live too close to see it.
Fort Lauderdale
You don’t have to travel half way across the world to make your point, although that is an excellent option. Rome, London, Paris or Sydney sound great as possibilities, but almost every airport can get you to Fort Lauderdale leaving you in close proximity to some of the country’s best malls, Miami for the nightlife and Orlando to take you back to your childhood.
The cost of a flight to the Florida city is often less than a meal out in a good diner. The price of hotels and apartments to rent can vary from very little to five star luxury to suit almost any budget.
There are so many fine beaches and restaurants where you can spend time with girlfriends discussing life and the future of the world. If you should need to get out occasionally you can choose between local boat cruises around the multimillion dollar homes, going to see the crocodiles in their home habitat or taking a cruise over to the Bahamas and back in one day.
Feeling energetic?
If a leisurely break doesn’t do it for you, then consider exploring Death Valley and the Grand Canyon. The Canyon is almost 300 miles long, up to 18 miles wide and over a mile deep. You will be able to travel around what we used to call the Wild West taking a backpackers’ vacation through organized camping for the less prepared or planning it on the go with your small group of friends.
Las Vegas
If the boys can play in Las Vegas there is no reason the girls can’t go on a different week. For where the action is, most of Las Vegas is just a short cab ride from the McCarran International airport.
A week in Las Vegas could cost more than you expected if you lose money gambling or filling the slot machines, but you might go home richer if you strike a good win or two.
Whatever your budget, you will spend time eating in luxurious restaurants meeting people from all over the USA who are out to enjoy themselves.
There is nothing wrong with having a spa vacation or shopping until your credit cards desert you, but a vacation with your friends can be all the more exciting if you choose to do something different without the guys. Whether that means a week doing nothing between the beach and the hotel or a full vacation of hard exploring, the choice is always there.
