If you want luxury, let the AAA Arizona rating system guide you. Here’s a taste of the current AAA-5 Diamond rated properties in Scottsdale:
JW Marriot Camelback Inn Scottsdale Resort and Spa
The Camelback Inn is one of the three luxury resorts that has maintained its AAA-5 Diamond rating since it was established in 1976. In another show of commitment to service and luxurious quality for its guests, the Inn recently underwent an $50 million uplift — a definite plus in our books. Located with the picturesque Sonoran Desert as its backdrop, the Inn is jaw-dropping both inside and outside. Thoughtful gestures are scattered through the 453 pueblo-style casitas: think private patios, mini kitchenettes, and the works. There are private swimming pools for some of the 18 suites. The Asian-themed Sanctuary and Spa ignites senses, while the award-winning French chef Laurent Tourondel runs one of the best-rated steakhouses in the resort.
The Fairmont Princess Scottsdale
This resort received its AAA-5 Diamond rating in 1991, and is the second longest-holding AAA-5 Diamond resort in Scottsdale, after Camelback Inn. This resort is located away from the other resorts in Scottsdale, about 20 miles from the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in North Scottsdale. The resort and spa mixes business and indulgent pleasure with style and finesse. There are so many factors at the Fairmont that make us drool. First, there is the renowned Willow Stream Spa, voted by Travel + Leisure Magazine as one of the best spas in the world. Then there are four critically acclaimed dining options, and two championship 18-hole golf courses. Don’t even get us started on the tastefully furnished 649 rooms, plus the range of lavish suites for that additional privacy. This resort and spa is definitely a cut above the rest.
Four Seasons Resort at Troon North
Located at the foothills of Pinnacle Peaks, The Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North is the third longest-holding AAA-5 Diamond rated resort in Scottsdale. With a fitness center, an outdoor pool heated to the perfect temperature, golf, tennis, children’s facilities, and the dramatic Televara Restaurant, there is something for everyone in this resort. This resort is located about 29 miles from the Phoenix International Airport.
The Phoenician and The Canyon Suites at The Phoenician
Rated AAA-5 Diamond since 2004, the Phoenician has slowly blossomed. Some 643 guestrooms and 64 suites sprawl over 250 acres. More than 38 suites are located at the Canyon Suites, a boutique resort located within The Phoenician. Canyon Suites received its AAA-5 Diamond rating in 2007. Everything here is super sized. Some $25 million worth of contemporary Southwest artwork grace this desert oasis. There are 10 restaurants/dining/bar options. The Maine Chance Day Spa stretches over 22,000 square feet. Some 13,000 square feet of desert flowers are scattered in landscaped garden retreats. Of special mention is the two-acre cactus garden, rich with flora and fauna. There are also nine swimming pools and a 165-foot water slide. To top it all off, this resort is surrounded by three golf courses.
